The Washington Post‘s Charles Babington covered the Frist/McCain press conference yesterday as did Sheryl Gay Stolberg of the New York Times. In the press gaggle that followed the formal press conference, both journalists confronted John McCain with queries about Senator Bill Frist’s insistence that the Dems kept “moving the goal posts.

Something seems to be breaking on the Bolton battle. The White House may be yielding on evidence requests and communicating this through John McCain. Or they may be announcing that they think they have enough votes on cloture? Or — though I seriously doubt it — they may be throwing in the towel.
