The decibel level of vulgarity and character assassination on the blog seem to have subsided. Let’s not go down that road again — at all. I am turning off the controls monitoring comments for the time being. I hope that great debates, civilly deployed, now take shape here.
Please note that I have zero interest in monitoring comments. This is a complaint driven process. Once I get complaints, I delete the item complained about and will turn on the controls again. Those who want to fight with me over the lines I have drawn only make the problem worse as you make the mistake that my time and attention should be focused on comments. I write enough in the blog posts — and the majority of my attention will remain there.
I only have interest in reasoned, constructive discussion. The rest is an irritating distraction that I won’t subsidize or support on this blog.
