Cuba is one of the most misunderstood and fascinating nations on the planet. Everyone I have met who has traveled to Havana insists it is one of the most beautiful and unique places that they have visited.
Unfortunately, there is precious little knowledge among Americans and American policy makers of Cubans themselves and their unique history – especially given the United States’ tumultuous history with the small island.
To help Americans understand Cuba’s human dimension, New America Foundation/U.S-Cuba 21st Century Policy Initiative Director Patrick Doherty will host National Public Radio correspondent Tom Gjelten today from 12:15 pm – 1:45pm.
Gjelten will discuss his new book Bacardi and the Long Fight for Cuba: The Biography of a Cause.
This event will stream live here at The Washington Note.
