Greetings from Denver: A Video Salute to TWN Readers after Two Hours Sleep

More soon. Off to meet some journalists interested in more on Joe Biden.
I’m somewhat surprised that I’ve become a key source on Senator Biden given his long tenure in the Senate. He’s currently fourth in longevity in terms of years served in the US Senate but only 44th out of 100 in age.
But I confirmed that he is now 100th out of 100 in terms of personal wealth in the Senate (i.e., he is worried about paying those bills like many Americans). He was 99th out of 100 in 2005 but slipped a notch since.
Check out CNN’s American Morning tomorrow for some of my views about what Jill Biden will mean and might do for the country.

  1. Bob Miller says:

    Happy birthday, youngster!
I hope the Dems plan to make good use of the 100th of 100 info.

    Dear “Embarrased Reader”,
No condescension was implied, just genuine birthday greetings from a regular reader as I sit here way over 46 and admire what he does. Steve referred to his age (if I remember the number correctly) in an earlier post with what seemed like a bit of lament. Sorry you were so embarrased.

  3. Kathleen says:

I liked Schweitzer and hope his star in the party rises….Kucinich was good tooo, the first time anybody stood up and cheered….i thought Hillary did a superb job…she’s a lot better at being a good sport than Teddy was in 1980 when he wouldn’t even shake Jimmy Carter’s hand….

  4. embarrassed regular reader says:

“46 isn’t bad at all” Dripping condescension. Puleeeeze! Get over yourself! 46 is young, and what really counts is the quality of one’s awareness, not the years or the “accomplishments”, or who one knows.

Best line of the evening, imho: “That’s not a maverick, that’s a sidekick”
I wish I were there, Steve! Enjoy!
I’m happy about Joe Biden, but I was also hoping that Wyoming governor’s Schweitzer (of the quote above) might have been picked for veep. His speech tonight focusing on energy was terrific–the man speaks Arabic I believe, because he worked in agriculture overseas. As a western farmer, he seems very down-to-earth, but then, I hear he’s an organic famrer, so that would be mocked to no end (does he grow arugula?).
Anyway, Warner wasn’t bad, Schweitzer was very good, and Hillary did wonderfully (though I hope she comes out and really speaks up for Barack’s character at some point).

  6. TonyForesta says:

“No way, no how, no McCain.” Happy Birthday Mr. Clemons.

  7. Mr.Murder says:

It’s not really a convention of note unless there is an Oakley promotional pic.

  8. Elizabeth says:

    Happy “almost” birthday, Steve…
46 isn’t bad at all considering all you’ve accomplished so far. Thanks for bringing us to Denver with you. Have a great time, and say hello to Chuck, Joe and Wes.
