If you missed the Bolton hearings, they will reply again on C-Span in their entirety tonight at 8 p.m. eastern time.
Pay particular attention to Chuck Hagel’s and Lincoln Chafee’s questions. There is enough there to derail Bolton’s nomination — but the press is focusing on the Democratic Party agenda via the Dems on the Committee.
Chafee asked about Ambassador Charles “Jack” Pritchard and a battle that Bolton had with this individual who later resigned. There is more to this story — a lot more — and I’m digging into it now.
This battle with Pritchard, a controversial speech Bolton gave in July 2003 in Seoul, and his ongoing efforts to derail the Six-Party talks may have far greater consequence regarding the issue of Bolton’s “fitness” for the U.N. job than the discussions to be held tomorrow regarding John Bolton’s punitive actions towards various intelligence staff.
More to come.
