Steve, caught part of the show, good job; the history with Israel and their belief that there are still diplomatic options is really interesting, especially since they are (or would at least appear to be) the no. 1 target for any Iranian first-strike nuclear threat. Speaking of which, in light of Hersh’s article, reminds me of a bumper sticker I saw that read “Why do we kill people to teach them that killing is wrong?” Different context of course but the idea that we would use tactical nukes to prevent Iran from getting nukes so that we can avoid the possibility of them using nukes seems wildly circular. Just curious as to whether the ideas you discussed are kind of generally known/accepted in Washington and, of course, the next step, are Bush/Cheney, et al. listening?

Thanks Sara — I would love to see this Publius newsletter, which I have not been able to find. Could you send my way?

Why bother. Only three people listen to him or Air America Radio in general. Last I read, it was losing millions every month and is only being kept afloat by a hardheaded liberal tycoon.

I heard about this blog in the Publius letter going around and just wanted to say I’m impressed.
