Chafee Loses: Dems Teeing Up For Big Win

-

Wow. Well, I did prefer that Senator Lincoln Chafee win his race — but also know that Sheldon Whitehouse is considered by many to be a great candidate.
I very much hope that Whitehouse continue the same course on foreign policy that Chafee bravely pursued this year.
While I am bummed, my significant other is thrilled.
So much for internal poll numbers!!
Now. . .what about those teasers in Virginia and Missouri. This could be a blow-out. The Dems have lost none of their key races yet.

Sorry someone had to lose in Rhode Island. Let’s start building up Whitehouse.

    Truth is told !

I knew Lincoln Chafee’s father, and Lincoln was not him. Truth told, he’s been a lightweight in the Senate. I’m sure he’s a nice guy, and his opposition to John Bolton was obviously important to Steve. Otherwise I had a hard time understanding Steve’s enthusiasm for him. I’m sorry to lose the GOP seat but honestly don’t think the Senate is losing one of its giants here.

I understand your nostalgia for the bipartisanship of yesteryear, and I haven’t complained about your Chafee endorsement because I know you have been too wise to fall into the Friedman/Broder/Leiberman trap of “bipartisanship”, which in practice is nothing but GOP enabling. But I’m sorry, bipartisanship will only be achieved by a complete and total rebuke of Rove’s Republican Party. Only after the cult of Bush falls can we begin to rebuild the country we were.
