2nd Birthday for The Washington Note

We have been so distracted by serious problems around the world — and in Washington — that we completely forgot that The Washington Note was founded on August 3, 2004.
Although we are past the date, we are still in the same month, and I thought that it is good to punctuate these things with a thank you to all of you who read this blog, and who engage in “mostly civil” exchanges in the comments sections.
For those of you who donate through the Pay Pal site, even bigger thanks.

My day today (and birthday month) was made this morning when a very nice woman stopped me this morning at the Dupont Circle Farmers Market in Washington. She walked up and asked my dog’s name, as I was walking a fairly hot and exhausted, but still pretty awesome looking weimaraner.
I replied “Oakley.” She then said, “I knew it. You must be Steve Clemons.”
Apparently she’s been reading my blog that last two years in England — and recently came over to Washington and was getting ready to buy some breakfast pastries. She asked about Oakley’s future sister, Annie, and said some very nice things about TWN.
Well, thank you to the very nice lady from Britain — and thanks to all of you.
We’ll be back to the heavy stuff tomorrow morning.

— Steve Clemons
