Norquist & Emanuel on Immigration Debate

It is a really, really bizarre time in American politics when on one side of a debate — in this case, the immigration policy debate — stand folks like the anti-tax scourge of Democrats Grover Norquist, Chicago Mayor and most likely presidential Democratic Party aspirant Rahm Emanuel, GOP “architect” Karl Rove, former President George W. Bush, former President Bill Clinton and other high octane Dems and Republicans — while the other side is represented by former US Senator and Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint sporting a nativist, keep ’em on the other side of the wall end of the political spectrum.

And thus far, the DeMints of the debate are winning, at least in terms of achieving legislative paralysis.

Today between 2 and 3 pm ET, I will be moderating a session organized by The Atlantic in association with the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce with two of the notables above — Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Americans for Tax Reform President Grover Norquist.

The session will live stream above — or for better quality, see the stream at C-Span.
