Glenn Beck Needs Some Counseling on Bigotry

-

Glenn-Beck.jpg
I certainly missed this earlier in the week.
CNN Headline News’ Glenn Beck interviewed the first Muslim Member of Congress, Keith Ellison (D-MT) and said: “Sir, prove to me you are not working with our enemies.”
First of all Glenn, Muslims are not our enemies. Secondly, what do you think about other leading Muslims in America?
Really disgustingly out of line. . .

It’s great that Glenn Beck has the intelligence and courage to ask the very tough questions that all other media is afraid to ask. His TV show and radio show have some of the highest ratings and listeners with more and more people supporting him everyday. It’s meaningless distraction to call someone racist who is asking the right questions that so many are too intimidated to ask. With so much on the line for our country at this point in history, it’s time to work together with all races, across party lines to get things done and move our country forward.

Thank you David for that last comment. Agreed.
I love the Glenn Beck program and have enjoyed hearing things from his point of view.
I am absolutely appalled at the amount of hate that is thrown at him because he speaks his mind. It’s amazing. They will tear him down for “bigotry” for a remark he made and then in turn they will spew the most hate-filled rhetoric I have ever heard toward Glenn. The hypocrisy is absolutely amazing. On other blogs I have read comments that are absolutely out of line and down right hate-filled garbage.
He is completely up front that he is a conservative and speaks his mind. The first amendment of this country is a genius principle that guarantees we can speak out like Glenn does.
Go Glenn Beck! We love your show!

I am neither a conservative nor progressive but I can’t for the life of me see why GB receives such derision. I have seen his (such as last night’s look at the Middle East) — he specifically states that he is an opinion analyst and he is conservative. If all know that, why berate him? I say – hail to the first amendment. I would hope that Keith Olbermann and Jon Stewart would come out and say they are liberal and not journalists? Bring on the debate…if people are thinkers, all opinions are welcome!

Glenn Beck is an amazing hypocrite. Mr ‘Middle America’ who loves the heartland soooo much grew up near Seattle, lives in Connecticut (What, Greenwich or Stamford?) in a Mansion, and works in Manhattan. And yet, he talks down about elitists! What a con! He has enough money: if he really loves the ‘heartland’ so much, why doesn’t he move his family to Missouri, and air his show from there.
He is consistently wrong about all his predictions and thens lies and says when something comes to pass in the news and says ‘I said this would happen months ago!’
He is consistently divisive in his rhetoric and then declares that we should all get a long and it’s the fault of politicians that this country is divisive!

I might not always agree with Glen, but like thousands of others we sure agree on his views of immigration. We are glad that Glen is one of the few commentators speaking to this issue. The majority of Americans are anti amnesty but no one seems to care.

Wow, how typical of left-wing activists.
During that particular interview, yes, he asked a very poorly worded question. Which he apologized for. Several times. On several occasions. And the other part of the story, which all left-wingers conveniently overlook EVERY TIME is the fact that Glenn Beck has said over and over and over and over and…over…and…over again that he doesn’t hate muslims, that he knows many muslims, has friends who are muslims, and has stated SEVERAL times that 90% of muslims are peaceful and loving people…but the radicals (oh ya, you remember that whole little 9/11 incident, I know it wasn’t a big deal and all) are our enemies. The ones who want to kill us (and these ones have admitted it, so don’t tell me that I’m just a hate-mongerer and a racist, they have admitted it) are our enemies AND FOR GOOD REASON.
Not only has Glenn Beck stated publicly that he doesn’t hate muslims and that he knows that the majority are peace loving, great people, he offers ANY MUSLIM GROUP air time on his show so that they can offer their side of the story. And only a few have taken advantage of that.
If you guys would take the blinders off of your eyes for about…10 minutes and actually take the time to try to listen to him without automatically judging him because he is conservative, you would realize that he is trying to discover the truth in many issues that the world is facing, and he doesn’t want to feed us all the politically correct crap that the majority of the media tries to feed us. The sort of stuff that the majority of people just eat up without asking a single question.
And when you do ask a question? You are labelled as racist, a religious bigot, a hate-mongerer, a war-mongerer, a fascist, etc. FOR ASKING QUESTIONS? FOR NOT AGREEING WITH EVERY SINGLE WORD THAT WE ARE FED? Since WHEN has it been a bad thing to ask questions? To form your own opinions?
What I don’t understand is the “political correctness” says that every one’s opinion is correct, that truth is relative, don’t attack someone for their opinions, it might offend them, just go with the status quo, there is no wrong answer. Unless you don’t agree with the status quo. And then you are wrong and you shouldn’t be allowed to be heard from anyone, in fact you should be thrown in jail for being a racist, fascist hate-mongerer. How dare you not agree with me.
Funny how that works. And funny how I am undoubtedly going to be flamed for this. And how many people will form the opinion that I hate muslims too. Not because I said it. But because I’m a conservative. And I don’t agree with every word that comes out of your mouth or the medias mouth.
    Predicatable.

From reading this I would say there are a lot of left wing bigots out there also.
Just because someone asks a question does not mean they are bigoted. That’s the problem with this country today, no one is allowed to discuss anything unless it is approved by the PC Police.
When there are people opposing illegal immigration they are called bigots and against immigration. When someone is against abortion they are bigots and against women’s choice.
Christians are considered intolerant because they follow their faith yet a Muslim who calls for death to all who are not Muslim are acceptable because Christians drove them to it.
    What a farce.

I did manage to catch the jist of Beck’s interview. Firstly, why was he nervous about the interview? Did he expect Mr. Ellison to crawl through those Internet pipes (ala Se. Stevens) and kill him?
Secondly, by Mr. Beck’s deductions, he has to be convinced, that anyone who is not a Christian or perhaps a Jew, must convince him that he/she is not an enemy sympathizer.
So, for a Harvard educated Talking knuckle head, this is our new outreach policy?
